What inspires you?

Movies, Movie Posters, Animated Cartoons, and Magazine design.

What advice would you give to your younger self?

Be who you want to be. Don't settle.

What industry blogs/websites/podcasts do you enjoy?

Politico, JavaScript blogs, Graphic Design USA.

Also, "Artists" Drawing and Oil Painting magazine.

What do you think the future holds for people of color in creative industries?

Everything. The beginning shall be the end. We create and set the trends, and everyone else follows...that is the way it's always been.

Be who you want to be. Don’t settle.
— Didier K.

What is your dream job?

Creative Director/Partner for a small but mighty (African-owned) political firm.

What skill(s) would you develop if you had more time?

JavaScript coding, photography/videography. I love web design and building things digitally.

What is the last thing you learned?

I learned that corporal punishment in raising African children precisely came from Europe and is not a part of the African culture.

Career-wise: The basics of Figma.

What are you working on right now?

Political Direct Mail.

If you could talk to your favorite creative for an hour, who would it be? Why?

Ralf Allen, Haitian Painter, and his mentor Lyonel Laurenceau, who is also a Haitian painter. I have always wanted to be a painter but I never really had anyone to really talk to about it. To speak to someone with real experience but also someone who shares my cultural background.

What advice would you give to creatives of color looking to pursue their passion full-time?

Just pursue it and don't give up. The world is your oyster.

How do you keep your creative drip going?

I keep learning. I read a lot. Constantly trying to keep up with the changes in order to be relative.
